as one who looks forward to change and new beginnings, this should be really exciting-- except for the fact that this time, it's a little different: i have absolutely no idea or control of what this change is going to look like. right now, i'm kind of nervous, and there are a few knots in my stomach because the future is so uncertain. i kind of feel like i'm on the edge of a cliff, about to dive off. there's this building anticipation mixed with adrenaline, as i hold my breath before taking that leap to step off the cliff.
this time, i'm committing to approach this from another perspective. change precedes opportunity. however, we are often so focused with the uncertainty that comes with change that we become paralyzed by fear and miss out on the opportunities. there's another distinct situation i can remember when i feel similarly to jumping off a cliff: during my gymnastics meets in high school. before i started my tumbling passes or beam dismounts, there's that sense of uncertainty where i'm not sure if i'm going to be able to land that last tuck. but if you stick it through and do it well, the rewards are great.

here we go!!!
