this morning i came into work and as i was just going about my morning routine checking my emails before seeing my first round of patients, i stumbled upon this song as i was browsing through one of the blogs i follow. something about it was just so powerful that it stopped me in my morning rush and caused me to shut the door to my office and take 10 minutes to myself and God.
sometimes, it's hard to have faith-- even in the simplest things in life, in the things we take for granted. and in the process of "guarding our hearts" as it says in Proverbs 4:23, "above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it", in our misunderstanding of the scripture, we instead harden our hearts in a measure taken to prevent our hearts from feeling the emotions. i must remind myself daily in the process of things that God has given a purpose in everything, just as He promised in Romans 8:38 that "in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
learning what it means to guard my heart as God intended, and to live a life of pure and genuine faith...
give me faith
elevation worship
i need You to soften my heart
to break me apart
i need You to open my eyes
to see that You're shaping my life
all that i am, i surrender
give me faith to trust what You say
that You're good and your love is great
i'm broken inside, i give You my life
i need You to soften my heart
to break me apart
i need You to pierce through the dark
and cleanse every part of me
i may be weak
Your spirit strong in me
my flesh may fail
my God you never will
